Kyle Rittenhouse Accused of Shooting Three People, Two Fatally -- was Acquitted on all Charges

INTERNATIONAL: Protest has continued on Saturday in cities across the United States against the verdict acquitting teenager Kyle Rittenhouse of murder in the fatal shooting of two men during racial justice protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2020.

On Friday jurors found 18-year-old Rittenhouse, not guilty on all charges; two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide for wounding a third man, and two counts of recklessly endangering safety in protests marred by arson, rioting and looting on 25 August, 2020 in Wisconsin.

Protesters in Chicago marched through the streets holding signs saying 'White Supremacy equals terrorism' and chanting 'Black Lives Matter'. Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson has joined the protesters behind a banner reading 'end the Trump era.'

The Rittenhouse verdict has re-ignited fierce debate about gun rights and the boundaries of self-defense in the United States. Rittenhouse shot and killed 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum, and 26-year-old Anthony Huber, and fired a bullet that tore a chunk off the arm of Gaige Grosskreutz. Rittenhouse claimed it was self-defense. Protests also took place in Tampa, Florida and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
